I loved almost everything about it: Although Witchers are meant to remain neutral in matters of politics, Geralt has taken an orphan princess named Ciri sapkowsik his protection, hiding her from spies and assassins sent to find her. I loved it like I knew I would. I just give my opinion on my experience with this book and you can take it from there.
It started out decent, but took a quick downturn. InSapkowski won the prestigious Polityka’s Passport award, which is awarded annually to artists who have strong prospects for international success. But Sapkwski just found the book a sort of yawner. Blood of Elves is the first full-length Witcher novel, and the perfect follow up if you’ve read The Last Wish collection.

I particularly appreciated the way the book managed to operate simultaneously as serious fantasy and as a tongue-in-cheek deconstruction of the genre’s tropes and cliches. For this reason I give the higher rating than I usually do for such book: Thus it shall be!
Poor old David Gemmell must be turning in his grave. The name of these books are: Loved “The Last Wish. As the threat of war hangs almost palpably over the land, Geralt and Ciri are pursued by someone who understands exactly what the prophecy means – and exactly what Ciri’s power is capable of.
Yeneffer only likes to Geralt of Rivia, and Ciri, but to no one else, and to replace a Geralt is one of the flaws of the novel.
There is way too much dialogue. Es un libro completamente irrelevante, ni siquiera quiero continuar la saga. This seemed like a well constructed but quite safe progression to the novel side of things. In “The Last Wish”, there’s a story where Geralt was invitied to an event by Queen Calanthe, the Lioness of Cintra and he was asked to disguise himself. For all the slowness the book has charm. Of course this is an English translation and it could be such a horribly botched translation that is what ruins the book.

She acknowledges that she does not have the power to control Ciri’s talent, and advises Geralt to swallow his sapkoswki and seek help from Yennefer, a more experienced sorceress and his former lover. He’s a complex character as he’s been genetically mutated to be a heartless monster killer but he has extreme morals and will not take sides in any sort of debacle.

Strangely, it was translated into English as the second novel despite the second anthology, Sword of Destiny, having a huge role in epves up this novel’s events.
I hope I could get my hands on the next books because this first book just leaves everything hanging for me, and I think that’s how the author meant it.

It mostly sets the scene of two enemy countries, on the brink of war, and how Geralt of Rivia is stuck in the middle, with both countries and numerous independent guilds after him kf those he loves.

This is stupid, this is stupid, this is stupid. More than anything, the Nilfgaard is extremely good at conquering and if they can’t get you through o method, they’ll try another more subtle one. This book signifies a sharp departure from the previous two.
Shahaf Shaked from Israel Sapkowski’s works certainly don’t lack intrigue, and suffuse the genre with a fresh breeze. Took me a month to get to page 5. He captures Geralt’s friend, Dandelion the bard, and tortures him for information about Ciri.
